Our River Cottages are distinctly “Troutbeck” in their understated, residential and collected style, offering refuge and respite in exceptional comfort, and enjoy westerly views through the historic arboretum with Oblong Mountain and the setting sun beyond. Each cottage has its own private porch, and though generously spaced each from the next, the cottages are situated as if within a private enclave, amongst a landscape of native wildflowers and fauna.

Our Two-Bedroom River Cottage echoes the natural tones and textures of Benton House (renovated in 2021), and reflect interior design elements seen throughout the property, such as four-poster king-sized beds by Ian Ingersoll made in nearby Cornwall, CT, and ceramic lamps by Dumais Made in Bantam, CT, with window treatments in Champalimaud Design for Holland & Sherry fabrics constructed by local outfitter Lakeville Interiors. Antique trunks as coffee tables and Marcel Breuer chairs continue the “quintessentially Troutbeck” timeless atmosphere, while Hoosier-style cabinets house stocked minibars, and gas fireplaces complete the self-contained understated-but-luxurious country house experience. All accommodations offer Frette bed linens and bathrobes, 42" Flat panel television, Bluetooth-enabled Tivoli Audio radio, Nespresso machine and bath products by Wildsmith, the plant-powered, 100% cruelty-free skincare line out of the United Kingdom, and more.
