Spring Surrounds
Spring is in the air, or it will be soon! We've prepared a list of excuses for you to get away this Spring—family friendly reasons to flock to Troutbeck.
With our on site Offerings and myriad Things To Do in our culture-rich region, you'll be cared for and inspired here.
Program at Troutbeck
Calling all creatives! Join us for the last week of March. Saturday, March 28, we'll host an Acoustic Evening with three-time Spoken Word World Champion, Buddy Wakefield, and singer-songwriter, Holly Miranda, and on Sunday, March 29, sign up for Needle Felting with artist Courtney Childress, part of our Cottage Courses partnership.
On Saturday, April 4th, Troutbeck's Pastry Chef, Emma Isakoff, will host a Spring Cake Decorating Workshop. On Easter Sunday, April 5th, we will host our Easter Egg Hunt and offer a special Easter Brunch from 12pm to 8pm.
To celebrate Passover, Pastry Chef Emma will lead a Make Matzo workshop, crafting traditional matzo from scratch. Drop in before dinner from 4:30–5:30pm to mix flour and water, roll dough, and bake matzo, guided by Chef Emma. Take your freshly baked matzo home or stay and enjoy a Whole Roast Chicken Dinner (feeds up to 4 adults). Offered for one evening only on Wednesday, April 8, Chef Vinny will serve a Passover kosher-style Whole Roast Chicken Dinner, with your matzo baked and served alongside.
Stay at Troutbeck for the weekend of April 10–12 to experience a true slice of Hudson Valley culinary culture with a special dining event featuring four acclaimed regional chefs. On Saturday, April 11, join Shaina Loew-Banayan of Cafe Mutton in Hudson, Efrén Hernández (Casa Susanna in Leeds, NY, and the forthcoming Pez at Rivertown Lodge in Hudson), and Troutbeck’s own Executive Chef Vinny Gilberti and Emma Isakoff for a Hudson Valley Magazine GATHER Culinary Event at Troutbeck.
Following the GATHER dinner, stay for Cottage Courses: Appliqué Workshop on Sunday, April 12. This class will cover foundational techniques for layering fabric, securing shapes, and finishing edges, with room for experimentation and personal expression. Through hands-on demonstration and guided practice, participants will learn the fundamentals of appliqué. Open to all skill levels.
The following weekend, April 17-19, join us for Beeswax Taper Candle Making through our Indoor Recess program package.
