Happy October! The season of colorful trees and woodsmoke, the last of the tomatoes and dahlias, and the droll decor of pumpkins and ghourds. Fall is here in earnest and Troutbeck is gorgeous as ever, with plenty to inspire.

October is bookish! RSVP for this Saturday, October 3rd's Beyond Blue & White talk with author Genevieve Wheeler Brown and interiors stylist Mieke Ten Have at 3pm , and pre-order your copy of Desire Feeds the Feast now to reserve your spot at writer Tarajia Morrell's conversation with bestselling author Dani Shapiro, of memoir Inheritance and novel Signal Fires, on October 24, at 4pm sharp.

Now is also a great time to look ahead toward 2026 holidays. Benton Cottage (4 bedrooms + 4 baths, kitchenette, living and dining room) and our newest River Cottages (one bed and two bedroom) are ideal for special getaways. As ever, tennis, daily movement classes, exceptional wellness treatments, and celebrated dining await.

We are delighted to announce that Vincent Gilberti, who has served as our Executive Chef at Troutbeck since 2023, is now Culinary Director at both Troutbeck and Belden House & Mews , our sister-hotel 35 minutes east in Litchfield, Conn. So if you love dining at Troutbeck, the next time you find yourself in Litchfield, you know where to go.

Here Gilberti's menus offer ever more vegetarian options that are at once healthful and satiating. Point in case: Cauliflower with Celery, Verjus Raisins, Pistachio, Calabrian Chili & Colatura; Thistle Pass Farm Eggplant with Tahini, Heirloom Tomato, Cucumber & Lemon; and locally sourced, house-made Spelt Ricotta Cavatelli with Local Mushrooms & Burgundy Truffle.

As ever, our beloved Pasta Nights (3 plentiful courses for $45 for adults and $25 for children) is every Monday; Tuesdays through Thursdays, we offer Whole Roast Chicken Dinner, which easily feeds 4 adults, has a flat rate of $100; and Sunday Brunch is a weekly delight.

In addition to our evergreen Wildsmith wellness treatments and October daily movement classes (included in your room rate and open to members!), consider signing up for some personal training sessions while you're on property or a lesson with a tennis pro. Relish the gorgeousness of the great outdoors this time of year.
