The Lakeville Journal & Millerton News: Troutbeck Symposium 2025
The Troutbeck Symposium — the student-led historical educational forum — returned for its fourth consecutive year. Middle and high school students from more than 20 regional public and independent schools gathered to listen, present, and discuss findings of their research projects uncovering little-known local histories that tie to our national fabric. We are excited to be covered in the Millerton News and Lakeville Journal, writen about by Leila Hawken.
"Resistance in the face of oppression and stories of resilience that spanned generations formed an important theme as students presented the stories of area settlers and residents who suffered but endured."
"The symposium continues the Troutbeck legacy as a decades-old gathering place for pioneers in social justice and reform. Today it is a destination luxury country inn, but Troutbeck remains conscious of its significant place in history."
