ART ON VIEW: FLORESCENCE BY ALEXIS ENGLAND

Troutbeck is delighted to present its second exhibition by local artist Alexis England — Florescence, curated by Jean-Paul Philippe. "This new series is an affair with colour and a departure from my restricted 'mono palette' - it's loud, slightly psychotic and unapologetically pretty," says the artist. The show will run through July 5th.

6/8 — WINE TASTING: UNIQUE ITALIAN VARIETALS

Explore Italian grape varietals with Troutbeck sommelier Elina Richardson. taste and talk through sips of Glera (the grape used to make Prosecco), Cortese, Vermentino, Sangiovese, Chianti, Montepulciano, Nebbiolo and Barolo.

6/11 — RIVER EXPLORATION WITH THE HOUSATONIC VALLEY ASSOCIATION (HVA)

Children age six and up, join the HVA and Troutbeck for a River Exploration Class, in honor of their "Celebrate the Watershed" program. Participants will learn river mapping, reviewing stream safety and an introduction to macro-invertebrates and fish.

6/15 — COTTAGE COURSES: QUILTING WORKSHOP

The ultimate skill for any crafter: Learn To Quilt with local artists Natalie Baxter and Polly Shindler.

6/17 — COTTAGE COURSES: EMBROIDERY WORKSHOP WITH MICHELLE BEAULIEU-MORGAN

This one-day course will allow you to explore different embroidery materials, styles, and techniques in a supportive and creative environment. You'll start a project under the guidance of a professional textile artist + take home what you need to complete it, if necessary.

6/18 — FATHER'S DAY GRILL OUT

Honor your fathers by bringing them to a laidback fire-cooked feast at Troutbeck. We'll have local pork, house-cured ham, steak and Steelhead trout cooked on our "firetruck," with plenty of sides sourced from farms nearby, of course.

6/24 — PEREGRINES, FALCONS + OWLS, OH MY

If you've not experienced the awe-inspiring pleasure of learning from the birds of Falconry Excursions and TC Bird Management, then now is the chance...and bring the family. If you've participated before, then come see your old friends, the owls and other birds of prey.

6/29 — JMB BY JEANETTE MONTGOMERY BARRON BOOK SIGNING

Join photographer Jeanette Montgomery Barron for a discussion of her book JMB, created from two sittings, in 1984 and 1985, with seminal artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Limited edition books will be available to purchase and have signed.
