Announcing Our Sister Property: Belden House & Mews
It's with great delight that we share the news of our sister-property - Belden House & Mews - opening soon in Litchfield, Conn.
Last week, Belden was featured in The New York Times in T Magazine's 'The T List,' so it feels like an apt moment to share our excitement with our Troutbeck community of guests and locals.
Belden House & Mews is the landmarked borough of Litchfield's first full-service high street hotel opened in over a century.
As ever, we've collaborated with Champalimaud Design to embrace and embellish the existing structures: the 1888 Charles O. Belden mansion and the 1959 three-wing modernist "Mews" building behind it, set back from North and West streets. Later this year, Litchfield's historic 1891 Firehouse will join the 3-acre parcel in the center of town, walking distance to the vibrant shops off the Litchfield Green and enormous swathes of preserved nature encircling town in White Memorial Conservation Center. Peruse our suggestions for what to do near Belden in our Litchfield Town Guide.
To stay abreast of our progress, please consider subscribing to Belden Journal, which will have similar cadence and content to Troutbeck's, but with its spotlight cast on Litchfield County.

Much like Troutbeck, Belden will source from the best of what's around in Litchfield County with a particular focus on seafood from the New England shore. Chef Tyler Heckman, a Connecticut-native whose been busy in New York City kitchens such as the newly relaunched Hotel Chelsea, El Quijote and Toro, can't wait to return to his roots and bring his streamlined, ingredient-forward cuisine to Litchfield. He notes, "There are some very exciting restaurants that have opened in Connecticut in the last few years, and I want Belden to be a part of that new conversation."

Bathhouse is Belden’s wellness offering located within the Mews. Fitness equipment, floor exercise and Pilates may be self-guided or accompanied by private instruction. The wet area at the heart of the Bathhouse can be enjoyed as a circuit: first dry sauna, salt scrub and drenching overhead shower, steam room, followed by a 225-gallon Japanese Ofuro tub for hydrotherapies and cold plunges. One of the two available treatment rooms connects directly to the baths.
Featuring Wildsmith, the cruelty-free, high-performance skincare line from the United Kingdom also offered at Troutbeck, guests may choose from a suite of treatments designed to support recovery, repair and balance, and inspired by the universal principle of circadian rhythm and delivered by highly trained practitioners who will guide and help deliver profound results.
A seasonal outdoor 50-foot pool will serve as an oasis during the warmer months. Bathhouse services and amenities are available exclusively to Belden guests.
We hope you might join us on this auspicious adventure by subscribing to Belden Journal, which will have similar cadence and content to Troutbeck's, but with a spotlight on Litchfield County.
