Sandrine Harris guides forest bathing — a meditative walk across the grounds of Troutbeck that awakens the senses and draws you into the beauty of early summer.
The journey continues into the walled garden, where Sebastian Beckwith leads a tea tasting built around two single-origin teas. Taste, savor, and slow down as tea becomes a sensory meditation.
Please wear comfortable clothing and outdoor walking shoes. No experience with meditation is needed to join us.
Your ticket includes a takeaway of Sobacha, one of our favorite In Pursuit of Tea infusions — a caffeine-free roasted buckwheat tisane from Hokkaido, with toasty notes of candied chestnut and sweet grain.
In Pursuit of Tea is our tea partner across Troutbeck, poured in our restaurant and throughout the property.
Copies of Sebastian's A Little Tea Book (Bloomsbury Publishing, 2018) will be available for purchase onsite.
This event will meet at the Tall Barn, where you'll be guided from there. In case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled to July 19; if that date doesn't work for you, we'll issue a refund.

Sebastian Beckwith founded In Pursuit of Tea in 1999, after first falling for tea while working as a trekking guide in Bhutan and northern India. For more than 25 years he has traveled to small farms across Asia each season, sourcing single-origin teas now poured at some of the country's finest restaurants, including Eleven Madison Park, Daniel, and Gramercy Tavern. He has lectured at Columbia University alongside integrative-health pioneer Dr. Andrew Weil and taught at the American Museum of Natural History, and in 2018 he published A Little Tea Book, a pocket guide to the wide world of tea.
